Grant Dies After Year's Illness; To Be Buried Thursday Thomas M. Grant died at his home on West Third avenue Monday afternoon at 3:15 o'clock following a long illness and a serious operation. He had been sick for nearly a year from an illness that steadily sapped his strength until surgical aid was unable to restore fast failing health. Thomas Grant had been a resident of Clearfield for the past 17 years, having been employed as car inspector in the New York Central Railroad yards until his health forced him to abandon his work. He was 56 years of age, having been born in Arnot, Tioga County, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Grant. His parents were at one time residents of Houtzdale. Besides his wife, Mr. Grant is survived by two sons, James of Clearfield and Richard of Lynn, Mass.; one brother John Grant, of Clearfield; one sister, Mrs. Agnes Walker of Punxsutawney, and an adopted sister, Mrs. Chester Bradford of St. Benedict. Mr. Grant was a member of the Masons, Williamsport Consistory, Altoona Shrine, and the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. The Odd Fellows will take charge of burial services at the grave. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon, June 30th from the Grant home on West Third avenue at 2:00 o'clock, in charge of Rev. John T. Peters, assistant pastor of the Presbyterian Church.
