His death occurred Monday, June 8, of bronchitis coupled with old age. He was age 78 years, 3 months, and 14 days. The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon, interment in the new cemetery, services being conducted by Rev. D.B. Treibley, of the Lutheran church, of which deceased was a member. His wife, whose maiden name was Eliza Hartsock, of Half Moon, Centre county, survives him together with five sons, Martin L., of Hiawatha, Kansas; Lorenzo D. of Altoona; Austin Loren, and Ashley J., of this place. Two brothers, Henry and George, and three sisters, Mrs. Annie Helsey and Mrs. Hettie Lawhead, of this place, and Mrs. Sarah Ritter, of Missouri, also survive him.
