Several days ago, he contracted pneumonia, and continued to grow weaker until death relieved his suffering. Mr. Harrier was very highly respected by all who knew him. He was kind, generous, devoted to his church, and his children and little grand children. Nearly a hundred years ago, his father Samuel Harrier, settled in what is now known as Bradford township, Clearfield county. Mr. Harrier spent nearly all his life on the old homestead. When a young man he followed rafting on the Susquehanna. He was popular in the township in which he lived, having filled the various offices of the township. His wife preceded him to the grave nearly thirteen years ago. He was born in Bradford township, January 25, 1840, and was aged 75 years, two months and twelve days. Two children have also preceded him to the grave. He leaves the following children to mourn his going away – Mrs. Clarence Miller, Dr. A. B. Harrier and Miss Cora Harrier, of Tyrone; Orin Harrier, of Altoona and Paul, Robert and Rex, of Shiloh. Also one brother, William Harrier and one sister, Mrs. Sarah Kephart, both of Shiloh, survive him. Funeral services will be held in the United Brethren church, of Shiloh, of which he was a life long member on Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock. Interment at Bradford cemetery.
