CLEARFIELD (PA) PROGRESS, Wednesday, April 23, 1975

JOHN F. HENRY, SR.

PHILIPSBURG - John F. Henry, Sr., 90, of Tyrone Pike, Philipsburg R.D., died 
Tuesday, April 22, at 2 p.m. at his home.

He was born at Philipsburg on Dec. 19, 1884, a son of John and Caroline Henry.

Mr. Henry is survived by his wife, the former Nellie Renwick, and these 
children: Lawson of Pleasant Gap; Mrs. Frank (Mary) Richards and John, both of 
Sandy Ridge; Mrs. Clarence (Evelyn) Bowser of Philipsburg R.D. and Mrs. 
William (Henrietta) McDonald of Philipsburg.

Also surviving are 21 grandchildren, 62 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-
grandchildren.

Mr. Henry was preceded in death by three children, Robert, Ellen and Sarah.

A former mayor of Chester Hill, Mr. Henry was retired from Harbison-Walker 
Refractories Co. He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church of 
Philipsburg, a former sexton of the church and a charter member of the 
Mountain Top Fire Co. of Sandy Ridge.

Mr. and Mrs. Henry celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary last year.

The funeral will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in the Heath Funeral Home at 
Osceola Mills with the Rev. Harrison Wolfe officiating. Interment will be in 
Philipsburg Cemetery.

Friends will be received at the funeral home this afternoon and evening until 
the service Thursday.
