Taken ill one morning, physicians were summoned, but he grew worse and passed away in the evening. The remains were taken to Warren Centre, Pa., for interment beside the life companion's dust. The sermon was preached by Rev. N.F. Shirey of the Baptist church, to which the departed belonged for 40 years. The text was from 1st Chron. Chapter 15, verse 26. Six old friends, who had borne the wife to the grave, Asa Chaffee, Edward Chaffee, David Sleeper, Geo. Sleeper, Nathan Bowen and David Folk carried the temple of clay to the couch of last repose.
