Kirsch, 92, of Clearfield, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 13, 2007 at Knickerbocker Villa, Clearfield. Born on June 11, 1914 in Carrolltown, Cambria County, she was the daughter of Ambrose and Crissie (Woods) Feighner. Mrs. Kirsch was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield. She belonged to the Rosary and Altar Society, the Catholic Daughters of America Court 498, the Junior Women's Club and she was a volunteer for the St. Francis School Cafeteria. Ruth graduated from Indiana State Teachers College in 1934 and was a teacher in Cambria County for several years before her marriage. She wed Clair J. Kirsch on June 9, 1938 at St. Benedicts Church, Carrolltown. Her hobbies were oil paintings, gardening, crocheting and golf. Ruth is survived by her loving husband Clair and nine children: Suzanne Ross, Tyrone; Darrell Kirsch and wife Patricia (McNamee), Falls Creek; Dan Kirsch and wife Charlotte (O'Daniel), Dayton, Oh.; Barry Kirsch and wife Terese (Moore), of West Chester; Dick Kirsch and wife Sally (Gayley), DuBois; Frank Kirsch and wife Lizz (Kerr), Clearfield; Marion Shirey and husband Greg, Indiana; Tom Kirsch, Clearfield and Reverend Gregory Kirsch, pastor of the Central Moshannon Cluster, Morrisdale. Also, 23 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Evelyn Crowell of MD and Betty Miller of Carrolltown and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a granddaughter Bridget Kirsch, a son in law John Ross, an infant brother Harold, two sisters Gertrude Weakland and Helena Kline-Hite and a brother Paul Feighner. Mass of Christian Burial will be said at St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield on Saturday at 10 a.m. with Rev. Gregory A. Kirsch as celebrant. Committal services and interment will follow at St. Nicholas Cemetery, Nicktown, Cambria County on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. At the funeral home on Friday the rosary will be recited at 5:45 p.m. and a Christian Vigil service will be held at 1:30 p.m. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Saint Francis Educational Endowment Fund, 212 South Front Street, Clearfield, Pa. 16830.
