M. shabodeho@aol.com November 26, 2009, 3:35 pm The Clearfield Evening Progress, 6/14/1913 DANIEL LEIPOLD DIES OF BLOOD POISONING ALL Efforts to Save His Life Were Without Avail Daniel Leipold died Friday afternoon at about 5 o'clock. Mr. Leipold, it is now acknowledged, had not the least chance of recovering after blood poisoning developed in his hand. Mr. Leipold was one of Clearfield's oldest and best known citizens, and had been engaged in the hotel business for many years, being proprietor; of the Allegheny House, on East Market street. He would have been 56 years old on Jan. 23. He leaves a wife, one brother, George, of Saxton and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Hamilton and Mrs. Sophia Griswold, both of Franklinville, Huntingdon County. The funeral will take place Tuesday afternoon from the Allegheny House. Rev. Allenbach of the Lutheran church officiating.
