He was on the night shift and had only been in about an hour when death came. Daniel was 22 years old, a steady, industrious boy who had many friends, and who will be greatly missed, not only in his home, but by his young companions, who are deeply impressed by his sudden taking off. The mine was closed until after the funeral, which took place at Mt. Carmel, Pa., on Saturday afternoon, the funeral cortege leaving here at 7 o'clock Saturday morning, services having been conducted at his late home Friday evening in charge of Rev. F.C. Buyers. He is survived by his parents and one sister, all of whom are crushed beneath this heavy blow. The sympathy of all our people goes out to them.
