Lucore, of this place died at his home in Penfield Friday morning of last week. He was past 82 years of age and had been afflicted with the infirmities of old age for two or three years. He was seriously ill, however, but a few days. Mr. Lucore was born in Huston Township, the son of Stephen Lucore, one of the first settlers, who undertook in the early part of the past century to redeem from the vast pine forests that... time, a moiety of the fertile land for cultivation. He was a decidedly unobtrusive citizen. In him was developed to a remarkable degree the virtue of attending to his own affairs and others to do the same without his voluntary direction. In short his life was that of a very conscientious Christian gentleman. The deceased was married in Huston township July 10, 1859, and last summer he and his wife celebrated the golden wedding anniversary in which they were joined by about 150 guests. Mr. Lucore's life was spent in that community where he was an important factor in the growth and development of that section. Funeral services were held from the late home in Penfield Sunday. Mr. Lucore is survived by his wife, four sons and one daughter. These are S.J. Lucore, Buffalo NY; C.W. Lucore of Brockwayville; Harvey and Grant of Penfield, and Avella the daughter, who lives on the Pacific Coast.
