Raftsman's Journal, 6 Mar 1901
Miss Maggie Maines, of Osceola Mills, who was a maid in a doctor's home in
Pittsburg, was suffocated with gas on Saturday night, Feb. 23rd.  A girl with
whom she roomed turned on the gas in the stove and retired and in the morning
Miss Maines was dead and the other girl unconscious.  Her remains were brought
to Osceola for interment.
