Zion meeting house, Jay Tp. Elk Co., Mrs. Mary A. wife of Samuel McClintock, aged 69 years 9 months. Mr. and Mrs. McClintock had been married over 50 years and the fruit of their union was 11 children which they raised to manhood and womanhood with three grandchildren; who with her one of her children I believe having passed over the "Dark Valley" before her. Yet they "mourn not as those without hope" for Mrs. McClintock made a profession of faith in the Christ and united with the M.E. church at 16 years of age and when visited by the writer a few days before she died expressed a firm faith and strong hope in Jesus her Daviour and comforter in the last hour. The funeral sermon was preached at Mt. Zion Church on the following Tuesday at 2 p.m. from Job 19, 26-27 and 2 Cor.5.1 to a large congregation of relatives and friends. E.H.
