McFarland, 82, of Clearfield died on Tuesday, September 26, 2006 at York Hospital, York. She was born on January 30, 1924 in Antes Fort, PA, a daughter of the late Samuel Lincoln and Phoebe M. (Tomb) Confer. Mrs. McFarland was employed at the former G.C. Murphy Co., Clearfield until its closing. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Clearfield and the Second Ward Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary. She loved bowling and was an avid fisherman. She is survived by two children, Althea High and husband Kirk of Clearfield and Rich McFarland and wife Trish of Red Lion; four grandchildren, Clair High, Kirk High, Jr., Stephanie Cascadden and Richard McFarland, II; seven great- grandchildren, three great great grandchildren; two sisters and seven brothers; Robert Confer and wife Dorothy of Rauchtown, Edith Felmy and husband Charles of Fayatteville, NC, Jack Confer and wife Edna of Linden, Edna Morse and husband Frank of Williamsport, Guy Confer and wife Becky of Mill Hall, Albert Confer and wife Rosemary of Jersey Shore, William Confer and wife Linda of Jersey Shore, Dean Confer and wife Laurie of Roaring Branch, Ron Confer and wife Joann of Rauchtown; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Allen McFarland on February 12, 1954 and whom she married February 20, 1942 in Jersey Shore, a sister Dora Getchen and a brother Samuel Confer. Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Saturday at 11:00 AM with Rev. Michael Shingler officiating. Interment will follow in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM and on Saturday from 10- 11:00 AM.
