Fatal Shooting Accident.

  A correspondent sends the Clearfield Republican the particulars of a 
distressing and fatal accident, which occurred at the house of Mr. 
Samuel McLaughlin, in Chest township, on Friday, the 13th inst.  Miss 
Susie McLaughlin, a young lady aged about 16 years, was handling her 
uncle's rifle, when it was accidentally discharged, the ball entering 
the forehead of Peter McLaughlin, who was standing near by, killing him 
almost instantly.  The deceased was about 23 years of age, and leaves a 
large circle of relatives and friends to mourn his untimely fate.  This 
lamentable occurrence should serve as another warning to young persons 
not to handle dangerous weapons.
