Norman, of Bald Eagle, was operated on in the Clearfield hospital for cancer and at four o'clock in the afternoon she passed into the great world beyond. Mrs. Norman had been a sufferer the past ten weeks from the disease that was gradually sapping her life away and as the only hope for a cure being an operation, she underwent the same. Mrs. Norman was a splendid woman in every way. She was a devoted member of the Methodist church of Bald Eagle, and enjoyed taking an active part in the services. She was also an active member and worker in the Bald Eagle grange. She will not only be missed in the home, but the entire community in which she lived. Mrs. Bertha May Norman was a daughter of David and Eliza Lewis, of Bald Eagle. She was born at Bald Eagle January 20, 1874. On May 30, 1893, she was united in marriage to David B. Norman, the ceremony being performed at Port Matilda. Surviving to mourn her death are the parents, the devoted husband, two children, Charles Calvin and Nannie Blanche, and the following brothers and sisters: Harry E., of Clearfield; Charles W., of Punxsutawney; Wilbur W., and Theodore, of Tyrone; Mrs. Harry Copenhaver, of Penn Station, Westmoreland county; Mrs. Charles Altemus, of Pitcairn, and Mrs. Oscar Lewis, of Tyrone. Funeral services conducted by Rev. Mr. Jacobs, of Port Matilda, will be held in the Methodist church at Bald Eagle on Saturday afternoon at two o'clock. Interment at Bald Eagle.
