Deaths From The Democratic Srandard, Hollidaysburg, Blair County Weekly News. (PA.)
Wed. 19 Nov. 1879 issue.

NOTE - Calvin Note, a young man of 24 years of age, a 
resident of Clearfield, Pa., was killed in the coal mine 
of Coulter & Huff at Philipsburg, Pa.. Wednesday afternoon 
of last week. Ten tons of coal fell upon him and he was 
mashed almost to a jelly. The deceased leaves a wife 
and three children in Clearfield, and he had only been 
working in the mine at Philipsburg for about two weeks.
