Plympton was born at Clearfield Aug 18, 1887 and died near Tyler, Pa, Dec. 28, 1895. His father and mother both died but not long since the little boy found a good home in the kind family of Whitnier Selfridge. Elmer was a bright and handsome boy beloved by Mr. and Mrs. Selfridge, their son Edward and daughter Roe as though of their own blood. A year ago he had a severe attack of whooping cough, and from this developed quick consumption. Dr. R. Smith of Penfield gave him all medical aid possible but the case was hopeless. Just a few hours before his death, he seemed to feel better and expressed a wish to go out and play, which he did. But he was soon taken with a violent attack of choking and ceased to breathe and to live. The remains accompanied by the family of Mr. Selfridge were taken to Clearfield and laid to rest in the new cemetery. One sister, Clara, aged 11, lives at Tobias Korb's at Luthersburg.
