Houtzdale Citizen Newspaper - Mrs. Wm B. Reed,Sr.
Mrs. Emma Reed, wife of Wm.B.Reed,Sr.,of Ginter, died on Thursday morning, 
Nov.24 at the Philipsburg Hospital following an operation. Although Mrs.Reed's 
health had been impaired for some time it was a deep shock to her many friends 
to learn of her death.
Mrs.Reed was a lifelong resident of Ginter and was well liked and respected by 
all who knew her. A devoted wife and mother, her death will be a great loss to 
the bereaved family, to which she devoted her entire life, taking but little 
active interest in social affairs.
Deeply religious in spirit, she was one of the first to join the Baptist 
Church of Ginter after its dedication thirty years ago. Mrs. Reed was born at 
Brisbin, Pa, on January 20, 1876 the daughter of John and Mary Morgan.
Joined in wedlock to Wm.B.Reed on Jan. 19th, 1893 she was the mother of ten 
children, three deceased and seven surviving.
Preceding her in death were three daughters: Mrs. John Close, Mrs. August 
Srock and Miss Emma Reed. Surviving are the husband Wm.B.Reed, sons Richard, 
Orwin, Wm.B. Jr.,James, John and Raymond. Two daughters, Mrs. Oscar Ricketts 
of Utahville,Pa., and Mrs. Louis Hullihan of Coalport, Pa.
Funeral services were held at the home on Sunday Nov 27th at 2:00 P.M. Rev. 
Goss, Pastor of the Baptist Church of Brisbin officiated. Interment was made 
in the Odd Fellows Cemetery at Brisbin.
