The deceased was born at Guerna Villa, Durham county, England, April 17, 1844. He came to this country in 1869, and for seventeen years has lived in this community, where he has made many friends who will deeply mourn his death. Besides his wife, he is survived by nine sons and daughters, as follows: Lauson, John S., Matthew, Thomas and Mrs. Patrick McQueeney, of Madera; Mrs. S. A. Stiffler, of Chester Hill; Mrs. Pearl Thompson, Beaverdale; Mrs. Robert Perks, of Osceola, and Mrs. John Henry, also of Chester Hill.
