Robert Wayne Richards of Hobart, Lake, Indiana, age 68, passed away Wed Sept 
4, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family, Robert was born Dec 24 
1944 in Ginter, Gulich Twp, Pa to the late Carl and Sarah (McIntire) Richards. 
Bob was a 1963 graduate of Shaw High School and proudly served his country in 
the United States Army. Bob retired from the University of Chicago in 2009, he 
received numerous awards of recognition for his work with the U of C Police 
Dept and the Southeast Chicago Commission. He is survived by his wife of 35 
years Sandra "Sandie" (nee Swensen) Richards, three children Maryanne (David) 
Rearick, Jason (Sharon) Greiner and Robert C. Richards, eight grandchildren 
Brittany, Sebastian, Jordan, Cheyenne, Christian, Joshua, Jason, Jeremiah, 
three sisters; Elizabeth Gallo of Philipsburg, Eleanor "Sissy" (Tony) 
Carcioppolo of California,and Carol (Fred) Taskes of Ohio, two brothers; 
William Richards of Ohio and Carl J (Becki) of Florida, many neices and 
nephews and other loving family members and friends. He was preceeded in death 
by his parents and two sisters Martha Jane Carcioppolo and Dorothy Cotter. 
Celebration of Life will be held Sunday Sept 8 at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart 
Indiana. Interment will be in the IOOF Cemetery at Brisbin, Woodward Twp, 
Clearfield, Sunday Sept 22 2013

Additional Comments:
Original Obit misspelled McIntire, Dorothy Cotter and the town of Brisbin.
These are corrected in this Archive. 
Robert is the grandson of Robert and Martha (Thomas) McIntire of 
Houtzdale/Janesville and William T and Adelaide (Higgins) Richards of Ginter.
