RILEY Died at Clearfield Hospital of Sleeping Sickness Mrs. Annie S. Riley, wife of Alfred Riley, formerly of Tyrone and late years of Rawlins, Wyoming, died yesterday afternoon in the Clearfield hospital, of sleeping sickness, a very rare disease, especially in the eastern states. Mrs. Riley had an attack of influenza last March and had apparently recovered when she was summoned east to Woodland, Clearfield county on account of the very serious illness of her mother, who passed away May 20. Mrs. Riley suffered a relapse after her constant vigilance in looking after her sick parent and was unable to attend the funeral. She grew stronger at times and was anxious to return to her family in the far western home, when each time arrangements were completed for the departure, she would become very ill. Local and county physicians of Tyrone and Blair county were consulted and could not definitely diagnose her ailment. A week ago today she was taken to the Clearfield hospital where she gradually grew weaker until death ended her sufferings. Mrs. Annie Sargent Riley, was born at Woodland, February 13, 1886. Twenty one years ago she was united in marriage with Alfred Riley of Tyrone, who is now a conductor on a railroad at Rawilns, Wyoming. Surviving her death are the husband, and these daughters and son: Mrs. Paul Bulick, Pittsburgh; Amelia, John and Susan, of Rawlins, Wyoming. The father, Thomas Sargent, one sister, Mrs. Maude Peters and one brother, John Sargent, of Woodland, also survive. Mrs. Riley was a member of the First United Brethren church of Tyrone. The body was taken to the home of her sister-in-law, Mrs. Harry Atack, 484 East Tenth street, Clearfield, where services will be held upon the arrival of the family from Wyoming.
