He was a lifelong resident of Brady township and was a member of one of the oldest and best-known families in that end of the county. He spent most of his life on the old homestead. In his early manhood, like many other country boys, he taught school and was one of the first, if not the first, school teacher that taught a school within the confines of what is now known, as Dubois. He was held in highest esteem by his neighbors and acquaintances. His wife died on May 19th, of last year, and he had been declining in health ever since, he could not reconcile himself to his great loss. Many weary travelers through this world will miss this hospitable home. He is survived by his five children. Funeral services will be held tomorrow, March 28. After a short service at the house, the cortege will leave at 9:30 a.m. and proceed to the Lutheran church at Luthersburg, where funeral services will be held. Burial in Luthersburg cemetery.
