Miss Mildred Shaffner died yesterday morning at 9 o'clock at the Cottage hospital, Philipsburg, where she had undergone an operation. She was aged 35 years and a sister of Mrs. T. G. Herbert of this city. She was a school teacher at Curwensville but had been forced to give up her duties the past winter on account of ill health. She went from here to the hospital for treatment. Besides Mrs. Herbert, the following sisters and brothers survive: Mrs. Alice Shaffner of Kane, Mrs. William Cameron of Chicago, Mrs. Charlotte Wynn of Philipsburg, R. A. and John Shaffner of Pittsburgh and Perry and Homer Schaffner of Gary, Ind. Her father, John B. Shaffner of Philadelphia, also survives.
