CLEARFIELD PROGRESS, Clearfield, PA, Feb 1977

Mrs. Helen Shillenn

Mrs. Helen Ogden Shillenn, 83, of 307 Leavy Ave., Clearfield, died 
in the Clearfield Hospital yesterday, Feb. 3, at 10:17 p.m.

She was born in Mt. Zion Dec. 15, 1893, a daughter of Jonathan and 
Martha Jane (Bailey) Ogden.  She was a former school teacher and a 
former Woman of the Year who retired from the Clearfield Post Office 
after 33 years of service.

Mrs. Shillenn was a member of the trinity United Methodist Church, the 
Langford Sunday School Class and the United Methodist Women, Rachel 
Circle.  She was also a member of the National Society of Daughters of 
the American Revolution, Hobby Garden Club and American Legion Auxiliary 
and was a past regent of the Clearfield-Susquehanna Chapter of the D.A.R.

She is survived by seven nieces and one nephew.  She was preceded in death 
by her husband William, her parents, four brothers and one sister.

Services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Bennett Funeral Home Inc., 
Clearfield.  The Rev. Carl E. Hill will officiate, and interment will follow 
in the Centre Cemetery.
