CHARLES SKLAR HOUTZDALE - Mrs. Josephine Sklar, 70 of 928 Don St. died at 4:22 a.m. yesterday [July 10] in the Philipsburg State general Hospital following an extended illness. She was a daughter of August and Antoinette McKonsky and was born in Poland May 30, 1900. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic church, the altar and Rosary society, the catholic daughters of America, the Christian conformity doctrine Sacred Heart guild, and the Jednota Lodge. She is survived by her husband, Charles Sklar, and four children; Mrs. Michael (Sophia) Yebernetsky, Madera: Charles, Raymey; Dorothy, at home; and Joseph, serving in the U.S. Air Force at Tacoma, Wash. Sixteen grandchildren and two sisters also survive: Mrs. Ann Thomas, Dixon City; Mrs. Frances Mattos, East Patterson, N.J.; a stepbrother, Walter, and a stepsister, Stella, also survive. She was preceded in death by two stepbrothers. Friends will be received in the Birger A. Freeberg Funeral Home from 2 o'clock this afternoon until Monday morning at 10 o'clock when funeral Mass will be said in the Sacred Heart Church with the Rev. John Buzga as the celebrant, the Rev. Edward Kosik as the deacon and the Rev. Robert T. Dempsey as the sub-deacon. Interment will be in the church cemetery at Brisbin. Rosary will be recited Sunday at 8 p.m. by the Catholic Daughters of America and at 8:30 by the members of the Altar and Rosary Society.
