Ball assisting the train men. Sneath at this time threatened that if he ever met Ball, he would whip him. On Thursday of last week they met at a sale on the premises of Mr. George Hoover, when Ball came up to Sneath and proposed a reconciliation, which led to angry words, and finally to blows in which Sneath came off victor. This being over Ball secured a knife from a certain Joe Bear, who was standing near, came up to Sneath and deliberately stabbed him in the back, the knife penetrating the heart. Sneath fell to the ground and expired almost instantly. Ball and Bear were arrested on the spot. The latter, after a hearing, was released on bail, and the former sent to prison to await his trial.
