He was a potter by trade, retiring from Jackson China, Falls Creek. Born Dec. 5, 1909 in Coal Glen, he was a son of Dunkin (should be Duncan) Thompson and Marie Renwick. He was married on March 29, 1937 to Nell Nedzinski; she survives. A resident of DuBois most of his life, he was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Tim Thompson of Murrysville; four daughters, Joan Trump of Philipsburg, Loretta Hass and Susan Kirk of DuBois, and Rosemary Murdock of Brookville; 15 grandchildren; eight great- grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Anderson of DuBois; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters. Funeral arrangements were in charge of the Welton-Klaras Funeral Home, DuBois. Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10 a.m., Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. James Kennelley as celebrant. Interment was in St. Joseph Parish Cemetery.
