TRIBLEY The community lost a highly respected citizen in the passing of John R. Tribley at his home on West Fourth avenue, on February 5, after being confined to his bed just a little more than one day. Although he had been in failing health for several months he was about until the day before his passing. He was the son of David and Sarah Rinard Tribley and was born at Hawthorn, Pa., on February 19, 1873. On July 18, 1899 he was united in marriage to Mae DeLancy, now deceased, to which union two children were born, Mrs. Don Miller of Cleveland and Woodrow Tribley of Clayton, Pa., both surviving. On October 24, 1935, he was united in marriage to Mrs. Grace Hunter, who survives him. A Brother also survives, J.H. Tribley of Alliance, O. Mr Tribley was a railroader, beginning his career with the Allegheny Valley Railroad in 1894. Later in that year he joined the new York Central system as a fireman and was promoted to engineer in March 1893. In 1910 he was elected secretary-treasurer of the Clearfield Division 635 Engineers, and served 33 consecutive years in that capacity until the tie of his retirement, March 1, 1943. He was a member of the I.O.O.F for 46 years. He was also a member of the Clearfield F. and A.M. Mr Tribley was a very active member of St. John's Lutheran Church, alway interested in its growth and development, and at the time of his death he was lay-president of the church council, of which body he had been a faithful member for years. Funeral services were held from his late home on Tuesday afternoon. February 8, in charge of his pastor Rev. E. Roy Hauster. D. D., after which the body was laid to rest in Hillcrest Cemetery.
