The deceased, who was the daughter of Max and Jane Reed Schell, was born October 20, 1853, at Bald Eagle Furnace. During the last seven years she had been a resident of DuBois. Mrs. Vail was member of the Roman Catholic church and died in that faith. In 1874, in Tyrone she was untied in marriage to Martin Vail by Rev. Father Farrand. Mr. Vail preceded his wife to the spirit world twenty-four years ago. The following named children survive to mourn heir mother: John D. Vail, Jersey Shore; Mrs. Agnes Flanagan, of Willantown; William T. Vail, of Snow Shoe; Joseph M., Robert C. and Ella, of DuBois; Edward F., in the west. Mrs. Vail is also survived by one brother and two sisters: Mrs. William McNelis, Mrs. James McNelis, and Joseph Schell all of Tyrone. Another brother William Schell, of Reaove, died some years ago. After her marriage she and her husband resided in Tyrone for a few years. Her husband being a railroad supervisor for the New York Central road, they removed to various localities from time to time, and he died twenty-four years ago while they were living in Philipsburg, Centre county. Later Mrs. Vail and family removed to Snow Shoe, where she lived for a good many years, and for the past seven years she had lived at DuBois. Mrs. Vail had been in failing health for several years, but her condition had been growing more and more serious during the last year and a halt. The body was brought this forenoon to the home of Mrs. William McNelis, of 1359 Logan avenue. Funeral services were held at 9 o’clock, Saturday morning at St. Matthew’s Catholic church.
