Clearfield County SS 
     Before me, a Justice of the Peace in and for said county 
personally came Rev. J. Smith who being duly affirmed according to law said 
that Frederick Shepherd, of Burnside Township, said county, died at 1 o'clock 
P.M., Tuesday, December 19th, 1882, at his residence in Burnside Township, and 
that this deponent was present was then and there present, and further 
deponent Smith (illegible) 

Sworn and subscribed before me this 23rd day of Dec. A.D. 1882 
W.J. Nugent J.P. }Jacob Smith

Additional Comments:
Frederick was born 1810 in Wayne Township, Lycoming County (the future Lock 
Haven of Clinton County), the son of John Shepherd and Mary Williams. He was 
the paternal grandfather of Congressional Medal of Honor winner Warren J. 
Shepherd.
