Clearfield County Orphans Court Vol A  page 100 May Term 1841
     At an Orphans Court began and held at Clearfield town in and for the 
County of Clearfield the 3rd day of May 1841 before the Hon George D. Woodward 
Esq President and his associates James Ferguson and John Patton Esq of said 
court.
Petition of David and John Cree for Guardian.
     File C No 13 The petition of David and John Cree setting forth that they 
are minors over the age of fourteen years and that they have not any person 
legally appointed to take charge of their persons and estate and paying the 
court to appoint permit them to make choice of a suitable person as guardian 
whereupon the court permitted them to make choice and they chose Samuel M. 
Smiley who is appointed by the court as guardian of the Said David and   John 
Cree upon his giving bail in the sum of three hundred dollars each.
