Jones This Indenture made the eighteenth day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty six between Ann Myers of the borough of Lock Haven in the County of Clinton and state of Pennsylvania of the one part and James R. Jones of the County of Dauphin and state aforesaid of the other part, Witnesseth that the said Ann Myers, widow, formerly Ann Proctor and daughter of Francis Proctor deceased for, and in consideration of the sum of five Hundred Dollars lawful money of the United States of America, unto her, well and truly paid by the said James R. Jones at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath granted, bargained, sold, aliened, enfeoffed, released and confirmed and by these presents doth grant, bargain, sell, alien, enfeoff, release and confirm unto the said James R. Jones his heirs and assigns, all her estate right title interest claim and demand at law, or in equity of her the said Ann Myers of in to or out of all and every the lands tenements and hereditaments the property and estate real personal and mixed, which were of or in any manner or way belonged to or was vested in General Thomas Proctor of revolutionary memory late of the City of Philadelphia now deceased (of which General Thomas Proctor, the said Ann Myers, the grantor in this indenture is a lawful heir and from where the estate intended by the indenture to be conveyed and decended [sic] to the said Ann Myers) wheresoever the said lands tenements hereditaments property and estate, real personal and mixed may be situatued or located in the state of Pennsylvania. Together with all and singular the lands, mines, ways, waters, water-courses, rights, liberties, privileges, herfeditaments and appurtenances whatsoever thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining, and the Reversions and Remainders, Rents, Issues and Profits thereof, and all the estate, right, title, interest, property claim and demand whatsoever of the said Ann Myers, in law, equity, or otherwise howsoever, of, in, and to the same and every part thereof. To have and to hold the said lands, hereditaments and Premises hereby granted or mentioned and intended so to be, with the appurtenances unto the said James R. Jones his heirs and assigns to and for the only proper use and behoof of the said James R. Jones his heirs and assigns forever. And the said Ann Myers, her heirs, Executors, and Administrators, doth by these presents covenant grant and agree to and with the said James R. Jones, his heirs and assigns that she the said Ann Myers her heirs all and singular, the Hereditaments, and premises herein above described and granted or mentioned and intended so to be with the appurtenances unto the said James R. Jones his heirs and assigns against her the said Ann Myers her heirs and against all and every other person or persons whomsoever lawfully claiming or to claim the same or any part thereof, under her shall and will warrant forever defend. In witness whereof, the said Parties to these presents have hereunto interchangeably set their hands and seals. Dated the day and year first above written.
