Mrs. George Burd passed away at her home, on Main street, Saturday evening, July 4, 1914 at 8:00 o'clock, following an illness of many months. Agnes Amelia Brillhart, with promise of long life found her first home in Bellefonte, with Mr. and Mrs. Peter Brillheart, her parents, on November 21, 1851, and there brought joy through a bright and happy childhood, enriching the home by the loving disposition she developed. On March 10, 1881, Miss Brillheart was joined in marriage to George Burd at Aaronsburg, Pa., and for many years, Loganton has been their home. The deceased is survived by her husband, one son, Ambrose, at home, and two daughters, Mrs. Mittie Kettner, of Greene township, and Mrs. Ellen Lucetta Deyo, of Illinois. Nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren also survive. Mrs. Burd was a most excellent christian woman and possessed many beautiful traits of character. She enjoyed the association and fellowship of her friends and neighbors, by whom she was loved and most highly esteemed. Mr. Burd and family have the sympathy of the entire community. Funeral services were held in the Lutheran church at 9:30 Wednesday morning. Rev. John R. Reish, pastor, officiating, assisted by Revs. H. C. Kleffel and O. G. Martin." Note: The above information is somewhat incorrect. Agnes was born in Aaronburg, Centre County, and was orphaned just before her 5th birthday in 1855.
