  Clinton Republican, Jan. 9, 1895
    Mrs. Caroline M. Packer, wife of John P. Packer, died Sunday at East Liberty, 
  near Pittsburg, of typhoid fever.  The remains were brought here Monday evening 
  for interment.  Deceased was a daughter of George E. Appleton and the Caroline 
  Appleton, of New Brighton, and is a sister of Mrs. J. A. Wilson.  The remains 
  were taken to the residence of J. A. Wilson on their arrival here.
    The remains of Mrs. John P. Packer arrived here Monday night and were taken 
  to the residence of J. A. Wilson on West Main street. The funeral services were 
  held at 2:30 o'clock on Tuesday afternoon.
