History of Columbia and Montour Cos. in Pa., Chicago: A. Warner & Co. 1887. NEHEMIAH KITCHEN, farmer, P.O. Rohrsburg, (Greenwood Twp.), was born July 16, 1844, in Fishingcreek Twp, to DANIEL and HANNAH (SHIVELY) KITCHEN. (Another entry in same book lists HANNAH as MCHENRY.) He was reared on the farm, and there remained until Dec. 1872, when he moved to this township and erected the buildings on the place now occupied by him, which is a part of the old homstead. He married, March 1, 1866, MARGARET C. LEMMON, who was born in Greenwood,a daughter of JONATHAN and MARGARET (LOCKARD) LEMMON. They have two children living: DORA JANE and ELMER L. HARRY D. died at the age of three months. MR. KITCHEN has 86 acres of valuable land under a fine state of cultivation. He is a Republican, and was elected Justice of the Peace in the spring of 1885. He is a member of the Grange.
