Items in () are added by the compiler: Administration of Samuel Yetter deceased Bond no. 9 1830 Be it remembered that on the 8th of April 1830 by John Cooper Esquire Register for the probate (of) wills and granting Letters of Administrationin due and Common form of Law were granted to Jacob Yetter & John Yetter Administrators of all and Singueas the goods and chattles rights and credits which were of Samuel Yetter late of Cattawissa township deceased the said Jacob Yetter and John Yetter having put in Sureties David Cleaver and John Rhodes in the Sum of Three Thousand Dollars and being also duly Sworn as the Law directs Witness my hand the day aforesaid John Cooper Columbia County Ss August Term 1831; At an Orphans Court holden at Danville in and for the Said County of Columbia on the first Monday to wit the day ; of August Eighteen Hundred thirty one Before the Honorable : Seth Chapman Esquire President and William Montgomery and Leonard Rupert Esquires his officials No 2: Petition for guardian for Harriet Jemima & Susan Yetter, minor children of Hannah Yetter died, The petition of Samuel Benjamin of Catawissa Township ; in the said County was inttercede to the Court humbly **** that Harriett Jemima & Susan children of your petitioner and Hannah his wife late Hannah Yetter now died are minors under the age of fourteen years and have no guardian to take care of their estate your petitioner therefore prays your honors to appoint a suitable person as guardian to take care of ; their estate Whereupon August 1st 1831 Petition being read and prayer granted the Court Appoint Alexander Means Esquire Guardian By the Court November term 1832 No. 18 Petitionn for the partition of the Estate of Samuel Yetter dec'd. The petition of John, Jacob, Daniel, Samuel, Joseph, Sarah intermarried with Jacob Idler, Mary intermarried with Alexander Means Esq. Elizabeth, and Alexander Means guardian of the minor children of Anna Benjamin dec'd and Charles Benjamin son and *** of the legal representatives of the said Anna Benjamin dec'd and Sarah Johnson wife of Levi Johnston late Sarah Benjamin one of the daughters and heirs ; of the said Anna Benjamin dec'd all heirs of the estate of Samuel Yetter late of Catawissa Township The said Samuel Yetter died intestate *** *** year ago leaving the aforesaid children and heirs *** Seized in his ***** as of *** of and in a certain tract of land in the township aforesaid as joining lands of *** Hower, Jacob Walker, Jacob Yetter, Benjamin Sharpless and others containing about two hundred and thirty *** acres No partition or valuation of the said estate having been made the petitioners pray this court to : appoint Benjamin Sharpless, Jeramiah Hughes Ezra Hayhurst Jacob Krook Peter Smack George Hughes and John Yeager chosen by the petitioners for that purpose the matter partition or : valuation of the said ***** according to the acts of (the next several words are illegible) and to make report of : their findings **** ***** at the next Orphans Court after they shall have partition or valued the same Whereupon Nov. 6 1832 petition was read and the above named **** according to the **** of the petitioners appointed. By The Court December 1832 Return of the amiable writ of Partition of the Estate of Samuel Yetter deceased of Catawissa Township We the person appointed in the within writ of partition, to divide or appraise the land of which Samuel Yetter the elder, lately died seized, situate in the township of Cattawissa as within mentioned Do Report that we attended in (or on) the premises, as directed in the said ; writ, and then (appraise) in the presence of the heirs and their agents, who were **** in ***** of noted given being severally sworn or affirmed according to **** We did divide the said land of Samuel Yetter dec'd into eight equal parts of equal value {to the best of our knowledge and judgement} according to a plot or draft which is hereunto annexed The lot or part numbered, No 1 contains ten acres, two perches and allowances the Mansion house and buildings being thereon erected No 2 contains thirty three acres sixty perches & allowance No 3 contains thirty three acres, eighty six perches and allowance No 4 contains thirty seven acres, seventy one perches & allowances No 5 contains thirty two acres one hundred perches and allowance No 6 contains thirty four acres, thirty seven perches & allowance No 7 contains thirty one acres, eighty eight perches & allowance and No 8 contains thirty six acres, seventeen perches and allowance And further that their is nine heirs and we have divided The said land into only eight shares We therefore have appraised the said land at three hundred and seventy five dollars for each and every lot making the whole tract worth three thousand dollars; We consequently direct each heir who shall except a part or share as aforesaid, to pay to the one heir who shall get no such part the sum of forty one dollars and sixty six & 2/3 cents, making in the aggregate the sum of $333.331/3 for the heir getting no land to be paid in such manner as the law directs Witnessed in our hands the twenty fifth day of December AD 1832 Benjamin Sharpless, J. Note the several lots of calculated and the contents given with the allowance Lot No 1.2 and 3 lay to the east of the public road leading from Cattawissa to Bitter Gorge and the remaining Nos lay to the west of the same road Lot No 1 on which the mansion house and out buildings are contains besides the allowance 10 A 2 perches No 2. 33A.60 No 3. 33A.86 No.4. 37A.71 No.5. 32A 100 No.6. 34A.37 No.7 31A (the remainder is illegible) January term 1833; (sentence illegible. Draught of two contiguous tracts of land situate in Catawissa township Columbia County late the property of Samuel Yetter *** *** dec'd Containing in the whole 248A122 perches and allowance that is the larger tract held in sight of Nathan **** 222A113 perches and allowance the ***** in sight of Edward Borwall by deed from Hughes 26A9 perches and all. The whole surveyed for the heirs and divided by writ of partition the 25 day of December AD 1832 carefully laid down by Ezra S Hayhurst Whereupon January 10 1833 said read & confirmed by the court report April Term 1833 No 8- Petition of the heirs of Samuel Yetter dec'd for the allotment of the shares of land according to *** ****** The petition of John Yetter, Jacob Yetter, Daniel Yetter, Jacob Yetter, Jacob Idler and Sarah his wife, late Sarah Yetter, Alexander Means and Mary his wife, late Mary Yetter, John Moyer and Elizabeth his wife, late Elizabeth Yetter, and Joseph Yetter heirs of Samuel Yetter the elder, late of Cattawissa township in the County of Columbia State of Penna. Yeoman dec'd and Charles Benjamin and Levi Johnson and Sarah his wife, late Sarah Benjamin and Alexander Means Esq guardian of the minor children of Hannah Benjamin, late Yetter dec'd & one of the daughters of the said Samuel Yetter the elder dec'd was presented to the Court **** that the said Samuel Yetter became in his lifetime seized and propertied of a certain farm or plantation situate in Cattawissa township aforesaid adjoining lands of Jacob Wilken, heirs of Michael Hower dec'd and others containing in the whole 245 acres 132 perches and allowance or thereabouts And whereon a Jury or inquisition was appointed by the Orphans Court of the said County of Columbia consisting of Seven disinterested men who in January term last did divide the said lands into eight shares of equal value as so appraised . The same deciding also what amount in cash should be paid to the heir drawing no land, as there are more heirs than parcels of land. And whereas the said Jury did not in their report made to the Orphans Court at January term last allot to each heir his said part or lot Now know ye that we the above named heirs and guardian of Hannah Benjamin's minor children, Have agreed and allotted the said lands as follows namely We do agree that John Yetter shall *** the lot or share marked in the plot or diagram ***** by *** jury Number Seven Containing thirty one acres eighty eight perches and allowance Then Jacob Yetter shall have the lot or share marked in said diagram number eight containing *six acres seventeen perches and allowance That Daniel Yetter shall have no share of the land, but shall have the money awarded in lieu of a share of land That Samuel Yetter shall have the share marked in said diagram number five containing thirty two acres one hundred perches and allowance That Jacob Idler and Sarah his wife shall have the share marked in said diagram Number One containing ten acres two perches and allowance on which the mansion house is erected That Alexander Means and Mary his wife shall have the share marked in said diagram number Six containing thirty four acres thirty seven perches and allowance, That John Moyer and Elizabeth his wife shall have the lot numbered four in the said diagram, containing thirty seven Acres, seventy one perches and allowance on which is erected a log dwelling house, That Joseph Yetter shall have the lot numbered in the said diagram number Three, containing Thirty three acres eighty six perches and allowance, adjoining lands of Jacob Wilken And that the heirs of Hannah Benjamin dec'd shall have the share or lot marked in the said diagram numbered two containing thirty three acres sixty perches and allowance adjoining lands of Benjamin Sharpless And we further agree that the allottment we now make is the same that we and the said Jury where upon the ***** exceed and understood, should and ought to be made In **** whereof we the said heirs and guardian of Minor heirs have hereunto set our hands and seals the thirtieth day of March AD one thousand eight hundred and thirty three John Yetter [Seal] Jacob Yetter [Seal] Daniel Yetter [Seal] Samuel Yetter [Seal] Jacob Idler [Seal] Sarah Idler [Seal] Alexander Means [Seal] Mary Means [Seal] John Moyer [Seal] Elizabeth Moyer [Seal] Joseph Yetter [Seal] Levi Johnson [Seal] Sarah Johnson [Seal] Alexander Means guardian for the minor children of Hannah Benjamin dec'd [Seal] Sealed and Delivered in presence of John Fenstermacher, Milton H.
