Brown buwbrown@comcast.net August 21, 2008, 3:47 pm Dear Sarah Your letter is at hand. I think your ideas are right. It looks so sensible I do not see why it did not strike me before. I think the money it would take to buy a horse and wagon I could give good security for and there would be no trouble for me to pay the interest out of the earnings of the horse. It would no doubt be more businesslike and make you less trouble if you would invest your money in School Bonds and if you think best to do so I will be perfectly satisfied. I used to think I had a pretty good head for business but I have rather lost confidence in it. I was at Carrie's a short time last week. She is looking better than I have seen her for a long time. I forget every time that she has such a house full of girls. She will soon have lots of help. She has a nice healthy looking boy. I did not stay long as I have to keep on the move untill I get my trade established when I will be able to take things more slow. I get home very Saturday and probably apreciate home more than if I was here all the time. It seems to be rather hard work to keep inside of our income. I turn the money over to Tean and she has to make it reach so we are doing first rate. When times brighten up a little and the Boys get something to do I think we can save some money. I do not see but we are all just as happy and contented as though we were worth lots of money. Getting out of the business has taken a heavy load off. But the Idea that I am a failure and what money I had is all gone Keeps the spot the load made sore. This I have never said before probably will never again but it is out now. W.O.H.
