Brown buwbrown@comcast.net August 21, 2008, 5:45 pm Dear Sarah I have kept your letter on my desk intending to answer it and was surprised just now in looking at it to find the date March 19th. Trains leave here for Sunbury four times a day 8.31 and 12.12 AM 4.5 and 8:30 PM. The distance is 24 miles. So you will have no trouble in visiting there. Judge Salonge frequently sits on the bench and is highly thought of. We are all well. The schools are closed commencement-exercises have been this week. I have forgotten when you said you would come. Please let us know as Bess wants to be home and she will arrange her plans to suit. Bloom. is not a city but an incorporated town. The salary of the Mayor is mostly glory. It takes considerable time and trouble But does not interfere with my business. Business is quite good. But money scarce. Try and bring Martin with you. I am anxious for you all to see what butiful town we have. Yours W.O. Holmes (in a different handwriting) Dear Sister - I have written Will about you and I will probably visit them sometime in Aug. if that will be convenient for them but can eb-je (?) the date to suit their plans - is that right? I do not feel very vigorous and miss Elsie some, will have her back in the fall if it is best. M. goes to Buffalo to attend the Missionary Congress (illegible word) and next day we are invited down the river 17 miles away one day this week but I'm going to take life easy, on the whole. Good night at 1. Sarah Additional Comments: The business stationery is essentially the same except that the address is somewhat changed: 228 Center Street, Bloomsburg.
