Brown buwbrown@comcast.net August 22, 2008, 9:01 am My Dear Sarah I fully intended to come to the Buffalo Encampment and make you a visit. But I find it is not best for me to do so. I have been under so much expense and for the last two months there has been no business. This is the season when heating Jobs are being closed and I dare not take my nose off the grind stone even for a week. I do not know what Besses plans are I suppose she will be married soon. She and Aunt Mary just returned from a weeks visit up the river. Bess is looking much better since she has the school off her mind. We are getting along nicely at the house. Christine's health has been good all summer. Kate McDonald has been here for the last month. She and Christine work together first rate. Coods family and Fred and Edith are all right. Bess, Yost, Fred and Edith are out on their wheels this evening. I do not outgrow the loss of Tean. I do not allow myself to think. Tell Martin I am sorry I cannot come. Remember me to all. We has the best Presbyterian preacher here I ever heard. he came from Carthage, Missoura. His name is Hemmingway. Your Brother Will P.S. I am worried about Carrie and her family. I do not see how they will get a house before cold weather. W.O.H. Additional Comments: The business stationery is the same as the letter of June 5, 1896.
