He was born in Mocanaqua March 17, 1919, son of the late Michael and Concetta Sciotto Antonacci. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1943-45 and later worked as an equipment operator at the former Retreat State Hospital for 22 years. He retired in October 1975 because of poor health. He was a member of the Ascension Chruch of Mocanaqua, The Catholic War Veterans of Berwick, the American Association of Retired Persons and the Pennsylvania Association of Retired State Employees. Mr. Antonacci lived in Mocanaqua most of his life and lived in Berwick for the last 10 years. He is survived by his wife, the former Eleanor Rahl. They would have celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary in October. Also surviving are three sons: Daniel D. Antonacci, of Cressona, Pa.; Dominick "Nick" Antonacci, the Berwick postmaster; and Larry P. Antonacci of Clewiston, Fla.; five grandchildren, one brother, Charles Antonacci of Mocanaqua; four sisters: Carmella Denoy, Mocanaqua, Rose Zapora, Baltimore; Mary Herman, Nanticoke; Angeline Jenkins, Wilkes-Barre; and several nieces and nephews. A daughter, Suzanne Diltz, died in 1977. The family will meet at the Mayo Funeral Home, Second and Chestnut streets, Berwick, Tuesday at 8:45 a.m. and proceed to Ascension Church, Mocanaqua, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. with the Rev. Carl Prushinski, his pastor, as celebrant. Burial will a.m., in Ascension Cemetery, Mocanaqua.
