Harper's Adm's. To Robert Harper Recorded March 4th 1848 Wm. M. Laughlin, Recorder This Indenture made the fourth day of March 1848 between Wm. Kerr, Theo. Harper & Administrators and Mary Harper, Administratrix of the estate of John Mc. Harper late of Vernon Township Crawford County and Commonwealth of Penna. deceased of the one part and Robert Harper of the second part. Whereas the said John Mc. Harper was in his life time seazed in his demenses as the fee in the land hereinafter mentioned and being so thereof seized died intestate and not having a personal estate sufficient to discharge the debts owing by dec'd against him. For which cause upon the application of the said Wm., Theo. & Mary an order was granted them by the Orphans Court of Crawford County to make sale of a certain piece of land sufficient to contain ten acres or thereabouts in pursuance of which order the said Wm., Theo. and Mary on the 15th day of Feb. 1848 after due notice did sell the same to Robert Harper for the sum of $105. Now This Indenture Witnesseth That the said Wm., Theo. & Mary in consideration of the premises and of the sum of money aforesaid hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant bargain & sell to the parties of the second part, his heirs and assigns forever Eight & a half acres of land, bounded and described as follows viz. beginning at where the road leading from Meadville to Harmansburg crosses the west line of the original tract thence south forty four perches to an oak the original corner thence East sixty two perches to where the road from Meadville to Harmansburg cross said line thence along said road seventy five & a half perches to the place of beginning. To have and to hold the same to him the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns forever, for which right and interest he the said John Mc. Harper in and to the same at immediately preceding his decease. Witness the hands and seals of the said parties the day and year above written. Wm. Kerr (Seal) Theo. Kerr, Theophilus Harper and Mary Harper and acknowledged the above indenture to be their act and deed. Witness my hand this 4 day of March 1848. Samuel Douds (Seal) Rec'd of Robt. Harper one hundred and five Dollars the purchase money of the above described property as sold to him March 4 1848. Wm.
