Laughlin, Recorder This Indenture Made this twenty first day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty eight Between Theophilus Harper of the township of Vernon in the County of Crawford in the state of Pennsylvania of the first part, and John Kreiter of the aforesaid township county and state of the second part. Witnesseth, That the said party of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of Four hundred and Eighty dollars lawfull money of the Unites States to him in hand paid by the said party of the second part, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, hath granted, bargained, sold, released, and confirmed and by these presents doth grant, bargain, release, sell and assign unto the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns, all that certain Piece or Parcel of land situate lying and being in the township of Vernon in the county of Crawford and state of Pennsylvania described as follows viz. Beginning at a Post and stones, being the North west corner of land of Henry Quigley, thence north eighty eight and one fourth deg. west sixty nine and fifteen hundreths pr. by land of Geller Miller & Co. to a post on original south line of tracts, thence north one and one fourth deg. East Eighty and six tenths per. by land of Samuel Harper to a soft maple, Thence North Eighty eight and a half deg. East sixty two and eight tenths Per. by land of J. Martin to a Post (S. 40 deg. East 16/100 Per. from a small Black Oak), thence North seventeen deg. East fifty and one fourth Per. by land of said J. Martin to a white oak, thence South Eighty eight and a half deg. East Twenty one and eight tenths Per. by land of Jonas Shartle to a Post and stone, thence South thirteen and a half deg. west one hundred and thirty five and seven tenths Per. by land of first part to the beginning, containing Forty five acres and allowance of six per cent and one hundred and two perches be the same more or less, it being the same Premises which Andrew Harper by indenture bearing date the sixth of October A.D. one thousand eight hundred and forty six for the consideration therein mentioned did grant unto the said Theo. Harper (party hereto) his heirs and assigns forever Recorded at Meadville in & for the County of Crawford in Deed Book Z pages 356 and 357, Relation being thereto had more fully & at large appears, together with all and singular the hereditaments and appurtenances thereunto belonging, and the remainder and revisions, rents, issues and profits thereof to have and to hold the premises hereby granted, with the appurtenances unto the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns to the use of the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever. And the said party of the first part, and his heirs, the premises hereby granted, with the appurtenances, against all and every person or persons whatsoever lawfully claiming or to claim the same or any part thereof to the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns, shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents. In witness whereof the party of the first part to these presents have hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year first above written. Before me the Subscriber one of the Justices of the Peace in and for said county personally appeared the above named Theophilus Harper and acknowledged the above indenture to be his act and Deed and desired the same might be recorded as such.
