McLaughlin, Rec'r This Indenture made the Seventeenth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty seven Between Andrew Harper of Vernon Tp, Crawford County, Penna. of the first part and Jonas Shartle of the same place of the second part. Witnesseth that the said party of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of One hundred & fifty two 18/100 Dollars to him in hand paid by the said party of the second part, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, hath granted, bargained, sold, released, and confirmed and by these presents, doth grant, bargain, sell, release, and confirm unto the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns all that certain piece or parcel of land lying & being in the Township of Vernon, County of Crawford & state of Pennsylvania bounded & described as follows Beginning at the north east corner at a post Thence by land of Thos. Cotton south one and a half degrees West twenty & five-tenths perches to a post, Thence by land of Wm. Cotton North eighty eight & a half degrees West ten perches to a post Thence by land of Wm. Cotton South one and a half degrees West twenty eight & five-tenths perches to a post Thence by land of the grantor above named North eighty eight and a half degrees West Thirty six perches to an old stump & post Thence by land of the grantee North one and a half degrees East forty eight perches to a stone in lane thence by land of the grantee afsd. East forty six & five tenth perches to the Beginning Containing Eleven acres and one hundred and thirteen perches being part of a larger tract of land conveyed by the heirs & Legal Representatives of the Rev. Joseph Stockton dec'd to Andrew Harper the grantee by deed bearing date the nineteenth day of June A.D. 1844 Recorded in the recorder's office in Meadville Deed Book X pages 424 & 425 reference being had thereto will show the same. Together with all and singular the hereditaments and appurtenances thereunto belonging and the remainders and reversions, rents, issues and profits thereof, To have and to hold the premises hereby granted with the appurtenances, unto the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns forever. And the said party of the first part, and his heirs, the premises hereby granted, with the appurtenances against all and every person or persons whatsoever, lawfully claiming or to claim the same, or any part thereof, to the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns, shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents. Before me, the subscriber, Joseph Kycenceder a justice of the Peace in and for said County, personally appeared the above named Andrew Harper and acknowledged the above written Indenture to be his act and deed, and desired it might be recorded.
