H, 83rd Infantry, was drafted and mustered in Sept. 27, 1863 as a Private at Reading, Pa. He was aged 25 at enrollment, with a light complexion, stood 5' 3.5" tall, had gray eyes, brown hair, and was a sailor by occupation, born in New York.
