These electronic pages may NOT be reproduced in any format for profit or presentation by other organizations. ************************************************************************ WAR OF 1812 DECLARATION OF SOLDIER FOR PENSION State of Pennsyvania County of Crawford On this ninteenth day of August A.D. one thousand eight hundred seventy one, personally appeared before me ADM Quiston, Clerk of the Court, Quarter Sep___ a court of Record within and for the County and State aforesaid David Jones aged years, a resident of Hayfield township County of Crawford State of Pennsylvania who, being duly sworn according to law, declares that he was married; that his wife's name was Sophiah Miller to whom he was married at Lancaster County Pennsylvania on the 25 day of August 1803, wife dies 14 July 1866, that he served the full period of sixty days in the Military service of the United States in the war of 1812; that he is the identical David Jones who was drafted in Captain Adam Diller's Company Regiment, Brigade, Division, at Lancaster County Penna on or about the day of September 1814 and was honorably discharged at Baltimore Maryland on or about the day of December 1814; that Col John Lutz was the commander of said Regiment, the best of applicants rememberance. That in consequence of his advanced age and lapse of memory, he is unable to fully state dates and names of commandants of said Regiment.... ..................that his post office is at Meadville, County of Crawford State of Pennsylvania; that his domicil or place of abode is at Hayfield twp David Jones -applicant attest: David Jones Jr John C Cotton
