HISTORY OF CUMBERLAND COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA. CHAPTER LV. PENN TOWNSHIP. 534 BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCHES: JOHN A. TRITT, lumberman, P. O. Huntsdale, was born in Penn Township, this county, September 23, 1847. His father, Peter Tritt, reared him to the lumber business. Our subject married, in January, 1869, Miss Jennie E. Tobias, of Carlisle, this county, and they have resided on their farm near Mount Rock, Penn Township, this county, for a period of nine years since their marriage. To Mr. and Mrs. Tritt have been born five children: Alice E., Edgar P., Florena E., Maud J. and Melvin J. Mr. Tritt owns a circular-saw mill, connected with his father's general lumber manufacturing establishment, at Huntsdale, this county. In politics he is a Democrat. He has filled the office of assessor for one term. At present he is school director.
