GIBBLE FARM GRAVEYARD, MT. ZION CEMETERY, and YOUNGS UM CEMETERY: Silver Spring Twp, Cumberland Co, PA In the early 1950Õs, John Henry Cocklin began searching the cemeteries of Cumberland County for the tombstones of his deceased family members. The Cocklin family has been in Cumberland County since the 1700Õs, and John found that his family members were buried in many of the county cemeteries. In an effort to manage the amount of information contained in each cemetery, John transcribed the data from the tombstones. His interest in his own family grew into an interest in local history and the history of all the families in the Eastern half of Cumberland County. He not only transcribed the information from the tombstones, but also added genealogical information and additional dates from newspaper articles and other sources. Therefore, the information contained herein is more than what could be derived from the tombstones themselves. The members of the West Shore Y Genealogy Club (WSYGC) have compiled the information that John Henry Cocklin transcribed, and re-walked Longsdorf, Mt. Zion, and Youngs to add any new information. ******************************************************************************* USGENWEB ARCHIVES NOTICE: These electronic pages may NOT be reproduced in any format for profit or presentation by any other organization or persons.
