In 1866 it was changed & faces the parsonage over the door is marble plate "Silver Spring Meeting House 1783" The stone in front 2d step up & on top is 18 ft long 3 1/2 ft wide & 11 inches thick. The old communion set is in a case which was originally their first musical instrument, a melodion. The ceiling in the main room is 22 to 25 ft high. The chapel was erected by Col Henry & Mrs Annie McCormick of Hbg, Pa. The tablet on the wall reads "This building is erected in memory of Mary Cameron McCormick who died June 3, 1882 aged 8 yrs by her father & mother Henry & Annie C. McCormick as in life she found her great delight in Sunday School Associations so in death, it is fitting that she should be thus remembered. Being dead yet speaketh Hebrews 11:4. When the old log church was torn down 1783, some of the original poplar logs went into the building of Peter Fornay's barn & later used in Geo Hoover's barn from which they were sawed into narrow boards which were used in base of the pulpit in the chapel. They also have the first communion table, the boards primed together, not nailed, which is in strong firm condition. Rev Charles Beatty preached here at an early day appearing in the pulpit with two revolvers in his belt as a protection vs the Indians.
