All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/pafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: unk ************************************************ Deed Conrad Billman & Beston Shover This Indenture made this 6th day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and ninety six Between Conrod Billman and Susanah his wife of Tyrone Township, Cumberland County and State of Pennsylvania, shoemaker, of the one part and Bosten Shover of the township, County and state aforesaid, blacksmith, of the other part. Whereas there was an order of survey issued from the land office of the province of Pennsylvania to Thomas Patton of Tyrone township for three hundred acres of Land in little Buffaloe Creek said order of survey bears date the 22nd day of Augst 1796, no. 934. And whereas the aforesaid Thomas Patton and Mary his wife by these Indenture dated the 4th day of May 1773 did grant, bargain and sell all the land surveyed in pursuance of said order unto Samuel Barnhill and to his heirs and assigns for ever, for the consideration money mentioned in said Indenture will more fully appear relation being had thereto. And whereas it appears by Indenture bearing date the 5th day of December in the year 1778 the aforesaid Samuel Barnhill and Jane his wife did grant, Bargain, sell and convey unto Joseph Sollenberger and to his heirs and assigns for ever all the land surveyed as aforesaid for the consideration money mentioned in said Indenture as will more fully appear relation being had thereto and whereas Joseph Sollenberger by his Indenture dated the 3rd day of April in the year 1794 did grant, bargain sell and convey one hundred and fifty two acres & seventy three perches and allowance of land being a part of the land surveyed on said order of survey unto Conrod Billman and to his heirs and assigns for ever for the consideration money mentioned in said Indenture as will more fully and at large appear relation being had thereto _____ Now this Indenture witnesseth that the said Conrod Billman & Susanah his wife for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred and eighty pounds of lawful money of the State of Pennsylvania to them in hand paid by the aforesaid Boston Shover the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged he the said Conrod Billman and Susanah his wife have granted, bargained & sold, aliened and confirmed and by these presents do grant, bargain and sell, alien and confirm unto the said Boston Shover his heirs and assigns for ever all the following pounds and described tract of land situate in Tyrone Township Cumberland County aforesaid that is to say Beginning at a stone set up for a corner in the line of Joseph Sollinbergers land, thence south nineteen and one half degrees, East tew perches to a white oak, thence South one and one half degrees East ninety eight perches and six tenths to a stone thence South sixty two degrees and a half west fifty perches to a white oak thence by vacant land South seventy four and a half degrees, West two hundred and eighty six perches to a stone thence North twenty seven and a half degrees West nineteen perches to a stone thence North fifty five and a half degrees East one hundred and forty eight perches to a stone thence North thirty eight and a half degrees East sixty two perches to a stone, thence by vacant land seventy nine and a half degrees East twenty seven perches to a pine, thence North six seven and a half degrees East, one hundred and eleven perches to a stone thence North fifty seven and a half East, thirty nine perches and a half to the place of Beginning containing one hundred and fifty two acres and seventy three perches and allowance of six per cent for roads. Together also with all and singular the Hereditaments and appurtenances whatsoever thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining and the reversions and remainders thereof and all the estate Rite title Interest claim and demand whatsover of them the said Conrod Billman and Susanah his wife of in and to the said tract of Land and every part thereof. To have and to hold the said bounded and described tract of land and premises above mentioned and every part thereof with the appurtenances unto the said Boston Shover his heirs and assigns to the ___ proper use and behoof of him the said Boston Shover his heirs and assigns for ever subject nonetheless to the purchase money and Interest due or to become due to the state ____ and the said Conrad Billman and Susanah his wife for themselves and there heirs the said bounded and described tract of land and premises and every part thereof against them and their heirs and against all and every other person and persons whatsoever to the said Boston Shover his heirs and assigns shall and will warrant and for ever defend by these presents. Robinson Cumberland County (seal) Be it remembered that on the 6th day of June Anno Domini one thousand seven hundred and ninety six before me the subscriber one of the Justices of the peace for the County aforesaid personally came the within named Conrod Billman and Susanah his wife and acknowledged the within Indenture to be their act and deed to the intend that it may be recorded as such the said Susanah wife to the aforesaid Conrod Billman on examination apart from her husband acknowledged that she voluntarily became a party thereto she being of full age and the contents thereof being first made known to her.
