We encourage links to the state and county table of contents. ____________________________________________________________ Deed of Release: DAVID MCCURDY TO ROBERT MCCURDY, 1790 Vol I Book 1 Page 242 David McCurdy To All to Whom these presents shall come We David McCurdy Deed of Release To newton Township Cumberland County the Eldest Son of John Robert McCurdy McCurdy and Agnes his wife Lord Greeting Whereas the said John McCurdy Intestate Seized and professed of a tract of Land Contining two hundred and forty six acres and one hundred forty seven perches caving ____ besides the above named David McCurdy Seven Sons and four Daughters to Wit William McCurdy John McCurdy James McCurdy Samuel McCurdy McCurdy and Moses McCurdy and Jennet Martha Mary and Jean McCurdy And Whereas the above named David McCurdy has intermarried with Agness Weakely and Whereas the Supreme Executive Council of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Granted unto Robert McCurdy one of the Sons of the above named John McCurdy deceased a certain tract of land called Spotsylvania Situate in Allen Township Cumberland County Beginning at a Corner whereas ---- of John Greegors Land thence by the Lame South thirteen degrees West one hundred and fifty seven perches to an hick hickory South thirteendegrees East twenty three perches to a White Oak South thirty three degrees East ninety three perches to a Black Oak and South Sixty degrees thirteen perches to a White Oak in the Line of Abraham Hide's Land thence by the Same Noth Seventy Four degrees East Sixty seven perches to a psot North thirty Eight degrees one hundred and twenty eight perches to a Stone heap South eighty four degreesEast forty eight ____ to a post in the Line of John Lambs Land thence by the same north thirty seven degrees west forty nine perches and an half to a post and north eight degrees east one hundred & seventeen ____ to an hickory thence by the Land of William and Michael Boar north Sixty one degrees and no half West nineteen perches to a White Oak South Twenty six degrees west ninety eight per. to a psot and North eighty six degrees west Seventy five perches to the place of Beginning Containing two hundred and forty six acres and one hundred and forty seve perches and there an allowance with the apurtenances which said tract was Surveyed for the said Robert mcCurdy in trust for the children aforesaid of John McCurdy deceased in pursuance of a Warrant dated March 1785 granted to Cht Swisher and an order of the board of Property of the first day of ___ to have and to hold the said tract of Land or parcel of Land with the appurtenances util said Robert McCurdy and his heirs in trust for the aforesaid Children of John McCurdy deceased according to their perspectives and Several Shares Now Know Ye that in Consideration pounds to us and each of us doth by these presents remise ____ are discharge and forever quit Claim _____ Robt McCurdy his heirs and assigns forever all the right till claim and demand We the said David McCurdy and Agnashis wife have or by any means may have ____ and unto the aforesaid tract of land & premises before mentioned and every part and parcel thereof To have and to hold to the said Robert McCurdy his heirs & assigns forever Witness our hands & _____ this twenty first day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred & ninety David Mccurdy Seal & delivered in the presence of Willm Martin James McCurdy Jonathan Walther Agnes McCurdy Exr Received on the day of the date of the above release of the above named Robert McCurdy the same of fifty pounds Lawful money of Pennsylvania being the Sum therein Mentioned as the Considration money. Testis Willm Martin James McCurdy David McCurdy Be it Remembered that on the tirty ____ day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety before one James Dunlop Esquire personally came David McCurdy & Agnes his wife the granters & releasors above named and the said David acknowledged the sand Indenture to be his act and deed and the said Agness being of full age was examined separate and apart from her husband and the full contents of the said deed made known unto her and thereupon the declared that she did voluntarily and of her own free will and accord seal as her act and deed the said Deed of Release without any Coercion or Cumpulsion from her said husband in Witness Whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal at Cumberland County the day and year aforesaid Entered in the office the 22nd day of April 1790 Recorded & Compared John Dunlop Willm Lyon Recr Jane Hunter Hodgson Tucson, Arizona danielh@azstarnet.com
