Land & Property Indenture Court House Cumberland County, PA Vol: 1 No: Book L Deed | James Sterrett This Indenture made this Seventeenth day to of December in the year of of our Lord John Mc Knight one thousand seven hundred & ninety four Between James Sterrett Lieutenant in the Army of the United States of the one art and John Mc Night, Jnr. of Juniata Twp, Cumberland County and Commonwealth of Pennsylvania of the other part Witnessth that the said James Sterrett for & in consideration of the sum of thirty-seven pounds, ten shillings, to him in hand well and truely paid by him, John Mc Night Junior, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged doth Grant, Bargain, & sell unto him the said Mc Night & all his right, Title, Interest, Claim, & demand of, in, and to a certain piece, parcel or tract of Land situate on the waters of Buffaloe Creek in Juniata Township, County and Commonwealth afforesaid, adjoining lands of John Jones, John McNight and others; It being the same tract of land for which: 1. Robert Cree obtained a warrant from the Honorable the Proprietor for fifty acres dated at Philadelphia the twenty-third day of November one thousand seven hundred and seventy three and then conveyed the same to John O'Bryan as appears by his (Robert Cree) & Jane, his wife, deed poll dated the twenty-first day of June one thousand seven hundred and ninety four. 2. John O'Bryan & Agness sold and made over the tract to the said (3) James Sterrett as appears by their deed poll dated the twenty-first day of July in the year one thousand seven hundred and ninety four. Together with all and singular the ways, the waters, courses, and appertanances there unto belonging or in anyway appertaining unto him the said (4) John Mc Knight, Jnr., his heirs, and assigns foe ever and the said Sterrett for himself, his heirs, executors, administratorsor assigns and from all and every person lawfully claiming or to claim from or under him, any of them shall and will warrant and forever defend. In witness to this Indenture, I have set my hand and seal the day and year therein mentioned. Sealed & Delivered in presence pf Thomas Scott & Roger Brown..... signed: James Sterrett.
